One Lovely Blog Award

Our Lovely Blog AwardHow appropriate that we at Catavino was awarded the One Lovely Blog Award from Richard of Passionate Foodie, a friend and fellow wine blogger covering all culinary related topics in Boston.  As many of you know, Catavino is the blog behind this site, but we felt it would be much more appropriate to highlight some of the fabulous wine blogs we’ve discovered through Wine Blogger, in addition to some foodie and tourism blogs we truly enjoy. That said, here is our list:

QVinho

Jackson and Jomar Brustolin are the two madmen behind this fabulous Brazilian food and wine blog! Sleek, well-designed, well-organized and jam packed with great content, it is without a doubt we would have to give them appropriate accolades for their hard work. Yet, it’s only written in Portuguese, which may enable many of you to start brushing up on your university language courses.

Remarkable Palate

Authored by Check Mark, a self-taught culinary genius, this blog does a great job of intermixing video, podcasts and articles to provide a well rounded understanding of various culinary secrets. Additionally, Chef Mark is a world traveler, and enjoys posting on his adventures, whether they be to ancient Indonesian temples or a simple Farmer’s Market in Virginia.

Winzer Blog

Thomas Lippert is a witty and extremely knowledgeable German wine writer, who has gained a sizable following for his work. Unfortunately for us, no matter how great Google Translation reports itself to be, we can only catch snippets of his content. However, we’re hoping this will change with the launching of his new English blog More Wine Please. Currently only listing as series of  “To Do’s”, we trust that in the future he will populate the site with the same great content on his German site.

Cellar Tours

Created by Genevieve and Des McCarthy, Cellar Tours is a high end luxury tour company that provides culinary tours throughout Portugal, Spain, Ireland and Italy. Their blog is recent addition that covers the various recipes, wines and events throughout these four gastronomically unique countries.

Devinis

Chris Cosentino is the executive chef of San Francisco’s Incanto specializing in rustic Italian cuisine. The title of his blog, as stated on his site, refers to the  “’off fall’, or the pieces which fall from a carcass when it is butchered. Originally the word applied principally to the entrails. It now covers insides including the HEART, LIVER, and LUNGS (collectively known as the pluck), all abdominal organs and extremities: TAILS, FEET, and HEAD including BRAINS and TONGUE. In the USA the expressions “organ meats” or “variety meats” are used instead.” How is that for exciting! If you’re an organ fan, I highly suggest taking a look at his site!

Vegetarian Organic Blog

I figured that if we’re going to have a blog based on entrails, I best offer the opposite end of the spectrum by suggestion Amira Elgan’s blog. Clean, simple and focused, her blog features beautiful photos and stories based on her version of healthy living. Jam packed with recipes, healthy food choices and current legal battles over chemically manipulated food, it’s great informational website.
